Darío Aguilar
Darío Aguilar (Barcelona, 1965) is a multifaceted artist whose career spans graphic work, painting, sculpture, and design. He graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona in 1989, and soon received awards and mentions in painting competitions that opened doors to exhibitions and galleries nationwide.
In addition to his pictorial work, Aguilar has successfully explored other artistic languages, excelling in work with acid-etched wrought iron, a material with which he has developed remarkably original sculptural and decorative projects. His versatility has also led him into the world of furniture design and, more recently, to the construction of theatrical sets, where he applies his plastic experience in the field of scenography.
In the realm of contemporary graphic work, his production reflects technical mastery and aesthetic sensitivity that position him as a recognized figure in this field. His participation in Estampa 2005, one of the leading fairs in printmaking and art publishing, consolidated his presence within the national art scene.
Darío Aguilar's work stands out for its ability to unite artisanal tradition and contemporary experimentation, creating pieces that dialogue between the strength of the material and the subtlety of form. Thanks to this plurality of interests, his career has become an example of the richness and diversity of current art in Spain.
