Josep Riera i Aragó (Barcelona, 1954) is a renowned contemporary visual artist whose work encompasses sculpture, painting, and, most notably, graphic work. Trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, he has built his own artistic universe dominated by imaginary machines and artifacts: airplanes, submarines, and zeppelins that evoke both the nostalgia of old engineering and the poetry of the impossible.

In his engravings and lithographs, Riera i Aragó recreates this particular imaginary with a highly personal graphic language, where energetic strokes and chromatic contrasts bring movement and lightness to his compositions. His graphic work thus becomes an intimate extension of his sculptural work, where iron and bronze give way to paper as the support for a dreamlike and timeless universe.
