Covadonga Osset
Covadonga Osset, born in Madrid in 1978, is a visual artist specializing in collage who merges memory, aesthetics, and narrative. Trained in Art History and with experience in the art market, she develops a unique language inspired by cinema, music, and the mid-20th-century spirit of travel.
Her foray into collage began in late 2020, using images rescued from old magazines, family drawers, and flea markets. More than the vintage itself, she is drawn to what is loaded with stories and memories. Her creative process always starts with the characters: figures that may wait days or weeks in her "imaginary circle" until they find the visual and narrative element that generates the perfect composition.
She prefers images from the 1950s and 1960s, which she considers ideal for her style, and avoids those that are too fragile or deteriorated. Her inspiration comes mainly from cinema and music of the 1940s and 1950s, as well as the world of travel.
In addition to her personal works, Covadonga Osset creates custom collages on commission, transforming special photographs into unique and emotive pieces that become lasting memories.
Each work by Covadonga is an invitation to travel through time, to rediscover fragments of memory, and to let yourself be enveloped by a visual narrative that blends nostalgia, beauty, and authenticity.
