Diego Rey

Diego Rey, born in 1979 in Trelew, Chubut Province (Patagonia, Argentina), is a visual artist, professor, and graduate in Fine Arts with a specialization in Painting and Printmaking from the National University of La Plata. He also holds a Master's degree in Aesthetics and Theory of Contemporary Art from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a Master's degree in Cultural Management from the Open University of Catalonia.

Between 2014 and 2019, he worked alongside Ferrán Adrià and, in recent years, has collaborated on creative and exhibition projects at ElBulliFoundation, combining his artistic production with cultural management and conceptualization.

His work is structured around two main lines:

In both series, concepts such as emptiness and absence are central axes, generating a delicate interplay of tensions between the visible and the suggested. His approach combines technical precision, material experimentation, and deep aesthetic reflection.

Diego Rey's work, with distinct yet conceptually connected proposals, invites the viewer to a visual and intellectual experience, where what is absent acquires as much force as what is present.
