Francesc Congost Tor

Francesc Congost Tor

Francesc Congost Tor (Barcelona, 1959) - a prominent Catalan artist who studied graphic design at the Llotja School in Barcelona, whose work focuses on the representation of uninhabited urban spaces, capturing the essence of places frozen in time. His style is characterized by a realistic brushstroke that, under an atmosphere of poetry and serenity, immortalizes buildings, avenues, and urban spaces with meticulous detail. His technique stands out for his mastery of pastel and pencil, tools he uses to create urban landscapes of cities such as Venice, Paris, and Barcelona. These works, devoid of human figures, evoke a special melancholy and an intriguing atmosphere thanks to his mastery of these techniques.

Since his first exhibition in Barcelona in 1985, Francesc has maintained a constant presence in the artistic scene, regularly collaborating with cultural institutions. His work has been recognized for its ability to evoke emotions through the representation of empty spaces that, paradoxically, convey a deep sense of life and movement.
