Javier Garanto and Lluís Puiggròs: Two Complementary Visions of Art
We are in another season, and it's already 34, we will start a new program of exhibitions for the entire year 2025.
The calendar can be seen attached on our website.
The first of the year is a tandem, a binomial, a pair of artists who do not know each other, but we will have the opportunity to enjoy them together.
Lluís Puiggròs, an artist already known to clients and collectors of our gallery, and Javier Garanto, a young artist who will present his works for the first time in this exhibition, although we have already had the pleasure of enjoying him in the summer group shows.
Two complementary, antagonistic, different, daring, fun, surprising artists.
Javier Garanto presents a body of work that is, at the same time, a visual game and a meditation on chaos and order. In his work, the stylized and repetitive figures seem to form a hypnotic spiral, a vortex that invites us to get lost in its dynamic rhythm. The primary colors —red, yellow, and blue— burst in with force, adding an almost childlike energy to a deeply structured composition. The repetition of forms becomes a universal language, as if each figure were a hieroglyph of our shared humanity.
The contrasts in some works explore three-dimensionality in a subtle but powerful way. The white, almost ethereal forms rise in layers, creating a sense of depth that breaks with traditional two-dimensionality. The dotted background with cheerful colors evokes a play between the tangible and the intangible, as if the work questions our perception of space and meaning.
Garanto achieves a balance between the playful and the contemplative, inviting us to reflect on how the individual (represented by each figure) dissolves and finds its place in a larger whole. Seeing these pieces in person is not only an aesthetic delight but an immersive experience that resonates on emotional and conceptual levels.
Urban work by Lluís Puiggròs, a Catalan artist recognized for his ability to capture the vibrant essence of urban landscapes and emblematic architecture. With a consolidated career and more than 200 awards in quick painting competitions, Puiggròs positions himself as a prominent figure in the contemporary art scene.
A pictorial journey through iconic cities and landscapes
In this exhibition, you can explore works that transport you to places like New York, with its characteristic yellow taxis and frenetic dynamism, or to more serene landscapes like the coast of Blanes, where the artist captures the magic of moonlight on the Mediterranean. His firm brushstrokes and chromatic palette offer a contemporary vision, halfway between realism and impressionism.
