Jordi Gich

Jordi Gich, born in Palafrugell in 1975, is a sculptor specialized in abstract sculpture, graduated in sculpture from the Escuela de Arte de Olot (2001). His work is distinguished by constant research into volume, matter, and space, establishing him as a prominent figure in contemporary Catalan sculpture.

He has held solo exhibitions in spaces and galleries such as Sala Escuelas Viejas (Begur, 2005), Galería Piece Unique (Palafrugell, 2007), Sala Arteca (Palafrugell, 2009), Sala Empordà – Fundación Vila Casas (Palafrugell, 2013), Fundación Valvi (Girona, 2017), Centro Cultural Edificio Miramar (Sitges, 2017), Sala del Castillo (Palol de Revardit, 2018), Espacio Tónico (Vulpellac, 2019), Fundación Museo Evaristo Valle (Gijón, 2019), and Espacio El Panel de La Blanca (Llafranc, 2021).

His presence in group exhibitions includes Son Espace Gallery (Pals, 2004), Espai Vila Casas (Palafrugell, 2008), ARTencontro (Santiago de Compostela, 2010), Ecomuseu la Farinera (Castelló d’Empúries, 2012), Galería L’Arcada (Blanes, 2014, 2015, 2018), Fundación Vila Casas Can Mario (2015, 2018), and the Museu del Disseny Hub – ArtsFad Awards (Barcelona, 2018 and 2019).

Awarded the 1st Prize of Plastic Arts of Begur (2011), the 1st Prize of Sculpture Manel Batlle (Granollers, 2013), the 1st Prize of Sculpture Crèdit Andorrà (Andorra, 2014), and the 1st Prize of Sculpture Pere Jou (Sitges, 2016), Gich develops an abstract sculpture that combines technical mastery and expressive force, establishing a deep dialogue with space and the viewer.
