Born in Barcelona in 1973, Mónica Castanys is a renowned contemporary painter whose work focuses on the representation of everyday scenes with a deeply human and aesthetic approach. A graduate of the Barcelona School of Arts and Crafts in 1993, she complemented her training with studies at the prestigious Lorenzo di Medici School in Florence, Italy, an experience that enriched her artistic sensitivity and technical mastery.
