Narcís Gironell

Narcís Gironell, born in Beuda (Girona) in 1969, is a Catalan multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, sculpture, photography, and installation. He trained at the Escola Superior de Disseny i Art Llotja and at EINA, University Center for Design and Art of Barcelona, where he developed his distinctive style and an artistic vision deeply linked to the visual culture of the 20th century.

His pictorial production is characterized by representing female figures that evoke the decades of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, integrating references to vintage advertising, retro graphic design, and the cinematographic iconography of the 1950s. Through these elements, Gironell creates a vibrant visual dialogue, charged with nostalgia, glamour, and modernity.

He uses stainless steel as a support, to which he adds mixed techniques such as digital printing, industrial paint, oil, vinyl, and gold leaf. This technical treatment allows him to build a sophisticated and luminous aesthetic universe, with clear links to pop art, where the female figure becomes the central axis of a powerful and seductive visual narrative.

Additionally, he incorporates oriental texts and signs that invite a deeper interpretation, expanding the possible readings of his work and adding an additional conceptual dimension. His style, recognized for its colorfulness, originality, and elegance, has captured the attention of collectors and critics, consolidating Narcís Gironell as a key figure in contemporary Catalan art.
