Pepe Puntas
Pepe Puntas, born in Córdoba in 1960, is a Spanish painter with a solid artistic education. He studied life drawing and painting at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios Artísticos de Córdoba, continuing his training at the Facultad de Bellas Artes de Sevilla.
Throughout his career he has received important awards and recognition, and his work has been included in significant public and private collections. Among his distinctions are:
Medal of Honor at the XVI BMW Painting Prize (Madrid, 2001)
First Prize at the IX Caja Sur – Casa Galicia Maestro Mateo Painting Competition (Córdoba, 2001)
Acquisitions of his work by the IVAM – Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (2013), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain for the Embassy in Chicago (2009), and various city councils such as Córdoba (2000) and Navacerrada (2008).
Presence in the art collection of the Museo Taurino de Córdoba (1990).
His painting, of great technical quality, combines a solid academic foundation with a personal plastic language that has earned him recognition in the Spanish contemporary art scene.
