Fernando Daza
Fernando Daza, born in Seville in 1979, is a visual artist with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Seville. A member of the Interdisciplinary Group in Collective Arts and Cultural Spaces (GIACEC), he has served as an honorary assistant in the subject Introduction to Color at the same faculty.
His work has been exhibited in numerous cities, including Madrid, Blanes, Cádiz, Lisbon, Sardinia, Paris, Bilbao, and Belgrade, and has been present at international fairs such as the L.A. Art Show (Los Angeles, USA) and Art Brussels (Belgium).
Paper is the central axis of his artistic language: a simple sheet of watercolor paper, torn by hand and glued onto canvas, transforms into a composition of great visual strength. On other occasions, he meticulously cuts the paper with a craft knife and fits the pieces together, creating symmetries and patterns of great originality. His technique combines artisanal precision with a contemporary approach to collage and paper sculpture.
Fernando Daza has works in prestigious public and private collections, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art of Skopje, the National Gallery of Art of Kosovo, the Banco Sabadell Foundation (Barcelona), and the University of Athens. Among his recognitions are the First Prize in the 10th National Competition of Visual Arts Fernando Quiñones (Cádiz City Council, 2009) and the Special Mention in the 69th National Painting Prize José Arpa (Carmona, Seville, 2016).
His meticulous and conceptual work turns paper into a sculptural medium, endowing each piece with texture, rhythm, and visual depth.
