WHITE OVAL is a work by Fernando Daza dated 2026, made with hand-torn Canson paper glued onto canvas, 100 x 100 cm. The piece organizes a central oval form against a continuous background, in which the folds and irregularities of the torn paper build a surface of marked material presence.
The palette is articulated around white, beige and grey, and the way light falls on the creases of the paper creates subtle variations of shadow and relief. The contrast between the geometry of the oval and the irregularity of the torn edge can be read as a reflection on the relationship between emptiness and fullness, and between compositional order and the trace of the manual gesture. The very process of tearing and gluing suggests a direct link with the materiality of paper and with the tradition of collage.
Fernando Daza's career includes exhibitions in cities such as Madrid, Blanes, Cadiz, Lisbon, Sardinia, Paris, Bilbao and Belgrade, as well as his presence at international fairs such as L.A. Art Show (Los Angeles) and Art Brussels (Belgium). His work is part of collections such as the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje, the National Gallery of Art of Kosovo, the Banco Sabadell Foundation and the University of Athens.
