Víctor Pedra, born in Barcelona in 1955, is a multidisciplinary artist whose career combines painting, sculpture, and design with a marked surrealist and symbolic influence. Between 1975 and 1980 he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, where he also trained in engraving and ceramics. After completing his education, he embarked on a journey through Europe (1980-1982) that enriched his artistic vision and marked the beginning of his sculptural path.

His deeply personal style finds its roots in surrealism with a clear Picassian inspiration. The female figure is the axis of his work: volumetric bodies accompanied by a distinctive iconography that includes birds, dogs, palm trees, watermelons, and pomegranates. These elements function as allegories of fertility, sensuality, and life, generating a visual narrative rich in symbolism.

In the 1990s, Víctor Pedra began creating large-format sculptures for public spaces, consolidating his plastic language also in three dimensions. His works stand out for the use of ochre colors on canvas or paper, as well as polychrome metal sculptures that have been widely valued by collectors. He has also cultivated still life as a pictorial genre, always within his unmistakable aesthetic universe.

His restless spirit led him to collaborate with sculptor Josep Vilalta-Tor in the design of artistic jewelry, thus expanding his field of expression.

From the year 2000, Pedra made a vital and artistic decision: he left urban life and teaching to settle in a small town near the Catalan Pyrenees. This change allowed him to work on larger formats, further deepening his sculpture and experimenting with new forms and materials.

The work of Víctor Pedra is, without a doubt, a unique proposal within contemporary Spanish art, with its own visual language that moves between symbol, body, and matter.
