Candela Muniozguren
Candela Muniozguren, born in Madrid in 1986, is an abstract sculptor who graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid. Her work explores the relationship between empty and occupied space, seeking a point of balance on that boundary where geometry opens up to the emotional and the human.
Her artistic production incorporates a playful component reminiscent of pieces from a construction set ready to be assembled. She works mainly with steel and industrial anchors, generating tectonic forms that rise through overlapping planes. However, far from being closed structures, her abstract sculptures expand into the surrounding space, integrating it with dynamism and accentuating rhythms through the use of pure color planes.
In her exploration of geometry, Muniozguren combines constructive rigor with sensitivity, intuition, chromatic scales, and imagination, giving rise to a plastic language that transcends the grid and proposes a living interaction between structure and emotion.
Her work stands as a reference within contemporary Spanish abstract sculpture, connecting the stability of the architectural with the fluidity of the organic and the sensory.
